The brief of Gregory XIV of 1591 raised the small Roman brotherhood in archconfraternity, that is, at the head of each of the institutions that had this name in all the territories of the Hispanic Monarchy. This action substantially modified the previous stage, focused exclusively on solving the needs of the Spanish in Rome. This work recovers the programmatic document, written in 1580, published in 1582, assumed in the new statutes of 1603, which incorporated some specific features to the Christian life of the Spanish community of Rome during the first stage of application of the Council of Trent and highlighted some of his material shortcomings and spiritual yearnings at the end of the Renaissance.</p>}, number={4}, journal={Specula Revista de Humanidades y Espiritualidad}, author={Calvo, Jose Antonio}, year={2022}, month={Sep.}, pages={119–158} }
