Gadamer y Platón en diálogo. Teoría y praxis de la hermenéutica
Resumen
La filosofía de Hans-Georg Gadamer es incomprensible si no se presta atención a su interpretación y reapropiación de los diálogos platónicos. En este trabajo quisiera examinar la relación de Gadamer con el pensamiento platónico, primero, enfocándome en su labor como intérprete y, segundo, atendiendo a la apropiación gadameriana de Platón para su filosofía hermenéutica. Con respecto a lo primero, intentaré mostrar que la interpretación gadameriana supone, primero, socratizar a Platón y, segundo, aristotelizarlo. Es posible reconocer la centralidad de la primera operación desde los textos tempranos de Gadamer, mientras que la “aristotelización” es promovida especialmente después de la aparición de Verdad y Método. Por otra parte, con respecto a la propia filosofía de Gadamer, presentaré cuatro aspectos centrales para la hermenéutica que tienen a la base al pensamiento platónico: la concepción de la hermeneútica desde el diálogo, su orientación práctica, el carácter dialéctico del lenguaje y la apertura hermenéutica a la trascendencia a partir de la concepción platónica de lo bello. Finalmente, en la sección conclusiva consideraré las posibles interacciones entre la interpretación y reapropiación gadameriana de Platón, y presentaré algunos alcances del ‘diálogo’ entre Gadamer y Platón tanto para los estudios platónicos como para los estudios gadamerianos y hermenéuticos.
