Abstract
Techniques for evaluation of credibility have increased the interest of the scientific community in the last decade, being subject of study from different points of view. Promising results in the field of detection of false witness have been obtained in this period of time. However, some underlying questions remain about the detection of the deception and its credibility. Consequently, the main goal of this study is to examine the credibility of the Criteria-Based Content Analysis (CBCA) according to the type of information provided, improving scientific understanding of the implications in different memory stores. To this end, a battery composed of 128 stimuli in response to the accuracy of the content of the stories, and type of memory store employed was developed. Therefore, the innovative aspect of this study is the employment of CBCA questionnaire, in addition to an adaptation of the Self -Assessment Scale Manikim (SAM), to analyze different memory stores in adult population. The findings suggest some exist credibility differences among the stories personally experienced in the past, with regards to retrospective memory, and stories contemplated in recent future, particularly in male gender.
