Resumen

La educación técnica y profesional es históricamente el sector educativo más descuidado en Bolivia. Si bien se ha integrado como parte de las políticas, como sucede en otros países, ocupa un lugar marginal y está destinada a poblaciones de bajos ingresos. La última reforma educativa de 2010 ha hecho hincapié en fortalecer este tipo de educación en el nuevo contexto político e ideológico. Este artículo analiza algunos hitos históricos y enfatiza la implicación conceptual de la educación y formación técnica, con el fin de discutir los desafíos de la educación socio-comunitaria y productiva de la actual reforma ante un sistema laboral disperso.

Abstract: Technical and Professional Education (TVE) is historically the most neglected educational sector in Bolivia. While it has been integrated as part of the educational policy, as in other countries, it occupies a marginal position and is intended for the lower classes. The latest educational reform of 2010 has emphasized the need to strength this type of education in the new political and ideological context. The article analyzes some historical milestones and emphasizes the conceptual involvement of education and technical training, with the idea to discuss the challenges of socio-community and productive education of the current reform in a sparse labor system.
